MY PROFILE

Abdul's inspiring story of struggle trial and tribulation starting with a childhood of poverty and deprivation, eventually resulting in his profoundly positive impact on his neighbourhood and community.

Abdul Malik was born in Easton, Bristol. After experiencing a childhood of poverty and desperation Abdul was determined to 'break the chain' and do something to change the future of his own and his families life, he left school without completing his GCSE's at the age of 16 and at the age of 17 he gambled his families humble fortune on his first venture, this venture changed his life and that of his families.

Abdul used the skills of his weekend job to open up the first Halal Butchers in Bristol, but this butchers was no ordinary Halal butchers, Abdul introduced state of the art marketing and selling Technics to attract customers, these customers came from all communities which meant that Abduls business 'Pak Butchers' became well known throughout the community and across the south west of England and through Abduls ideas, hard work and persistence the business grew exponentially and has now expanded to several other cities across the country.

Despite all the success Abdul was getting, he remained humble and true to his roots. He still manages Pak Butchers while being heavily involved in Bristol's community which includes his inspiring work with other entities such as the Royal Institute of Public Health and the national, local Muslim community.

Abdul Malik has continued to inspire both locally and nationally, his credentials as a Business leader as well as Religious and Community work has made him a huge role model in the UK today.

His work has not gone unnoticed, Abdul is featured in the multi million pound Bristol 'M Shed' museum, he has been 'Man of The year' for Bristol for 2 years running and recently was honored by the Lord Mayor of Bristol and awarded a City of Bristol Lord Mayors Medal for his dedication to the city and its cause, he was also shortlisted as a finalist for a British Muslim Award and British Diversity Award, for the second year running.
